Case Study : St Michael’s Primary School, Lichfield
When Soccer Excel approached St Michael’s in May 2009 to offer after school clubs, the School had never charged parents before for this type of service. Following negotiations, St Michael’s agreed to a three week trial available to
Year 2 and Year 3 pupils to be held each Wednesday for an hour.
Letters were circulated to notify parents and the results were very encouraging. In total, 33 children registered for the football sessions (22 boys and 11 girls). Questionnaires were sent to parents and their feedback was positive.
'This was a new idea for after school clubs at St Michaels and Stuart has come in and made the trials a
real success. He has a great rapport with the children and their smiles during and after the
sessions have shown they've really enjoyed themselves. Stuart's sessions have been well organised and
structured to maintain the children's concentration levels. He also achieves the balance of making them
fun and educational through applying a variety of football related games and exercises. The proof is in
the positive feedback from the children. I would sincerely recommend Stuart to any other school who
are considering the same approach'
